Two thousand fifteen

The moment I realized I didn't update my blog for two years! What on earth I was so busy working and having vacation and forgot I have a blog! Nevermind, I just want to share a short important story this year.

Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted a white cat with BSH look. I thought that other colours of cats are ugly. My bad habit of yes-no-yes-no for having cat kept holding me back.

I didn't have interest towards tabbycat, until on 24th July 2015 - three tabbies appeared at my house's gate. They were so tiny, skinny and hungry. I had no choice but to provide food and shelter.

When I got high fever almost a week, I started to think maybe I should give them to others since I was afraid I couldn't look after them.

But when the boys kept chasing me each time I went outside the house,  I realized the beauty of the Almighty's creation,  that tabbycats are friendly and adorable.

They are the greatest gift of my 2015 life.

Well,  I might talk about them more later. They are 7 months now, and one of the has gone.

The granted prayer

Remember this post? Alhamdulillah, Allah has answered my prayer. I'll be 25 next year, and He granted my prayer this year. :')

My parents were planning to bring me here on December three years ago, but the visa was closed by that time. What I learned was, Allah didn't grant my prayer early, one of the reason must be to test my patience and faith. And He knows much better if I were mentally or physically ready to be His guest.

I went to the Holy Land with my parents and my eldest brother, for 10 days, from 16th to 26th December 2013.

First, we went to Medina for three days. For a person who was raised in tropical climate country, I am honestly freezing here. The temperature even reached to 8 degree Celsius! But I love that somehow ^_^

Al - Masjid an - Nabawi (also known as Mosque of the Prophet)

Inside of the mosque. And there are lot of zamzam water barrels, and pardon me the black one is not any kind of model xD

Leaving Medina on 20th December, we headed to Mecca.

Friday night - after my first tawaf. Completed my first Umrah as well after taking the photo.

In front of Jabal Rahmah - where my brother keep trolling me about marriage.
According to history, this hill was the point where Adam and Hawa (Eve) met after they had been banished from the heaven. So it is considered as the landmark of love, marriage and family.

One evening, I was in the mosque waiting for Asar prayer. Suddenly my friend texted me requesting to see photo of Baitullah (Kaaba). [She went to holy land about seven years ago, so she missed the Baitullah so much], and I caught this. Bird eyes view of Baitullah - the pilgrims were preparing for Asar prayer. :)
[View from upstairs of tawaf circle]

All my life when I travelled anywhere, I easily thinking about my homeland, the local food, next task, etc. However, this was the first time ever in my life I didn't feel like coming back, I love being here VERY MUCH.

One of my friend told me, "Go to Baitullah as often as you are able to." I started feel that I have no more heart going to my dream vacation bla bla bla rich country bla bla or glamorous one. If I ever have chance again, Insyaallah I will put the Holy Land as my first choice :)

My 3 out of 5 prayers has been granted.
1. Finished study well.
2. Get a job.
3. Pilgrimage before 25.
4.  (not telling until achieved)
5.  (not telling until achieved)

The Not So Dead Blog and Person

It's not been A WHILE, but been ages, I know, NO UPDATE.
By the way, my life is getting busy, since I am a working lady now. :p
So, just let me update about some important things in my life.

After half decade of college life, I graduated on 28th May 2013.
As I ever talked in my old and previous post (did I?), I am left brain person.
My major of study was Visual Art Education.

I've just mentioned about work and education. So guess what I am working as now?

I work as a cat hunter.
LOL. Obviously NO.

An educator, a teacher - or a monstrous rebellious teacher.
It's sweet and kind teacher (if you believe so) and I'm teaching Art classes mostly.
The image above is for illustrative purposes only -  I'm not teaching Islamic subject.
Being a Muslim means you know the method to teach the kids how to perform prayer correctly.

At the same time, I'm trying to be an active amateur artist. After leaving college, I've joined art exhibitions twice, under Artgeng group.

Recent exhibition held in Bastion House, A Famosa Malacca.

What else? I'm sleepy~

The Last Chapter II: Behind the scene (exhibition)

From one angle.
We're amazing people maybe. We don't sleep at night, we sketch instead. Thanks to technology, projector helped a lot, our work turned much easier
Yeah, too amazing. Two can do better than one, and we're many.

It didn't really matter ladies or gentlemen, we all do the same thing here as a team. :)

It's slope and dangerous. But we love reckless thing.

Easels and handmade panel board for artworks display.

Small sized sponsored banner, advertisement was crucial for FYP.

P/S: My blog was on hiatus since my laptop had had trouble. Maybe need new one, later. :\

The Last Chapter I: Around RADAR 360

Hi. Did I make any sense?I was holding the exhibition catalog!

The official logo of RADAR 360.

What was RADAR 360 about? RADAR is the antonym for Rasa Dalam Rupa (the sense in form), held in 11th October - 13th October 2012 in IPG Kampus Tengku Ampuan Afzan, my college for half decade (5 years 5 months). This was our final exhibition as degree students in Visual Art Education. Let's take a glance.

We made this 'photobooth' from plywood. Damn heavy I say.

What I did, what I got, whatever around RADAR 360:

I don't always play with henna, but when I do, I make crap doodle.

My exhibited artworks:

 Title: SILVER JUBILEE: MONARCH
Size: 99 x 79 cm
Media: Oil paint on canvas

 Title: DISPUTE OF WAR
Size: 59 x 42 cm
Media: Oil paint on plywood

 Title: LET IT LIVE
Size: 59 x 42 cm
Media: Fabric dye on linen

That's all. But I made 'nother one during the exhibition:

This is what we called as 'batik' using the tool called 'canting', filled with melted wax.

And becoming like this. Oh yes, I do love dragonfly, a lot! :)

I don't want to make long post with lots of awesome photos from our exhibition, so...
Stay tune for next post: Behind the Scene of RADAR 360.

In process...

Our mural painting progress so far... I can say 85%. What we've done for these 3 weeks so far. Coming to school every evening, unless it's raining. One week remains before the final practicum ends. The Headmaster has started asking me if we could make it before upcoming week ends. Well, Insyaallah... if the weather is fine. Anyway, it's sort of different than my original design, due the difference of wall's scale. Just using creativity to overcome the small problem. ^_^

Jackpot day

Original report: http://www.utusan.com.my/utusan/info.asp?y=2012&dt=0328&pub=Utusan_Malaysia&sec=Pahang&pg=wp_02.htm

This morning I was conducting the kid scouts marching, with my scout uniform. After finished it, the GPK Koko came to my table, giving me a photocopy of newspaper report and said, "Najwa you are so lucky today." For three minutes I was puzzled watching myself on the newspaper while thinking how come the activity just now has already been reported in Utusan Malaysia. I just kept quiet and said nothing.

Luckily I don't have alzheimer, just recalled that I was doing the same thing previous week, wearing the same uniform and somebody was taking my photos. But I have no idea it'd be something to be published, just having thought I was just some documentation for school activity. About 1 hour, I got messages and PMs my friends asking about this. haha~

Designing the wall

I know it's a long period no update blogger is here. Truly busy with my practicum, every single day I learn how to improve my teaching skill, how to control kids, and how to make the lesson fun and meaningful. Anyway, not much to talk, updating today just to ensure at least I do something this month. Just want to share here my mural design at school. Based on my designs, the Headmaster chose the rainbow one.

Haven't started drawing it on the wall yet. We'll start it tonight. Well, I have to use projector to trace back the image or else all the scales would extremely change. Our attempt to draw it during cloudy evening failed since the image won't appear from the projector. The surrounding was not dark enough to show the image clearly.

Y u make no update??

That's a very common question when someone hasn't updated his/ her blog for almost a month. Same here. It's not that I have nothing to share, but I have not enough time to do. Updating blog usually takes 2 hours for me. Well, I'm quite complex and particular somehow. So the reason is, I'm busy. Normal thing for final year student having tons of tasks to do. Till then, bye.

Random pic, latest one taken - during CNY holiday - cousin's (middle) solemnizing ceremony. Please ignore my imbalanced hijab =)
Next turn: those dark blue hijab one =P

Strength of twinnies

It's already the second day of my 3rd phase practicum in SK (LKTP) Kota Gelanggi 2, Jerantut. To be honest, I didn't even have heart to go to school at the first day - yesterday was ---> (=.=). Perhaps this is my 3rd practicum, I didn't feel anymore excitement, and I wonder how my heart would feel then for posting xDDD - New school, new environment, new challenges are waiting.

However, my mood changed this morning. It's because I saw this cute twinnies: >__<
Left: younger sis, right: elder sis

Does it sound weird I'm talking about twins as if it relates to school? Well, I was waiting for the students for pre cross-country today at one of the checkpoint which is located in front of a house belongs to one of the teacher from that school. The twins are her daughter (which I forgot their names). Consider as lucky waiting at that checkpoint and made time to play around with the friendly toddlers. Since this morning, I felt so cheerful and have my heart back to teach. Thank you twinnies for making my day and giving me back strength to look forward for the challenges being here. Now I could see how kiddies could influence adult's thoughts.

This was one of the shot for pre cross-country. The event would be tomorrow. By chance, the boy with white shirt is my sports team member and he's so excited running at the 2nd place, telling me he'd be champion tomorrow. Well, whatever good for you, go ahead, boy. May your wish come true =)

Visiting Cambodia Day 10: Bye hometown ;)

Last day in Phnom Penh Airport, waiting for AA counter to be opened.

Bye hometown - that's Makcik's line, not me. hahahaah~
9 days living abroad - I truly missed nasi lemak! waaaa~

To be honest, I did enjoy myself living in Cambodia, it taught me to be thankful living in my own country. I'm not boasting saying Malaysia is absolutely perfect, but after living in the village for so many days, I learned how to live without internet, not enough electricity, no air-cond. However, for the villagers - they never use such lame excuses to be left behind. Though it may look like Malaysia in 60s, the villagers are very hardworking, having more than a single job is such a normal thing for people there, even the youngsters are so workaholic helping out their parents. I was so moved! T_T

p/s: Visiting Cambodia wasn't my in my plan during this holiday. It happened by chance when Kak Reeny told me Makcik was going to visit her hometown. I was pestered to purchase the tickets 3 days before departing. Hahahaha~

Visiting Cambodia Day 9: The Royal One

I forgot to tell at the previous post, we went to Phnom Penh at the evening after climbing the Udong Hill. Arrived at night, we stayed in another Makcik's relative's house.

I met this girl in the house. She's cute like babydoll and very polite + ladylike.
Good icon of Muslimah. =)

Today's programme: Visiting around Phnom Penh - with tuktuk! :D

Visiting The Royal Palace - it's a museum actually. They placed golden Buddhist statues and some tributes to the kingdom from other countries - Vietnam, Tanah Melayu, Thailand, etc. No photos allowed inside the palace.
(Hey I paid for 25 000 Riel but no photos???? grr!)

No photo?? This is the place you prohibit! Don't challenge on me!
(I love the ceiling design ^_^)

One of  photo-allowed-corner. Those are the mannequins of lady-in-waiting (servant) with different colour of uniforms. From left; start Monday to Sunday uniforms. They required to change the uniform daily. Cool! :)
(oh it's like playing Gaiaonline!)

They accompanied us along the roads in Phnom Penh. Don't ask where I was - great photographer.

White catfsih in the pond. I wonder if this one is albino or the species really exists.

Playing the weaving stuff. This thing is available in Malaysia, but I've never tried it before.

Not just an atlas, see how to pronounce Terengganu in Khmer ^_^

After visiting the Royal Palace, we rounded the whole main road in this capital city.

The embassy building. I saw Jalur Gemilang. Waaaa I miss nasi lemak!!!
Called in some market places - here's my tips: if you want to buy souvenir, better price is available in Phnom Penh. They sell the same goods, and much more choices. (^_^)

The great dinner:
They call it as cows climbing up hill.

 The process:

Step 1: Preheat the pan on stove, put a table spoon (or more) margarine on the pan and let it melt.

Step 2: Put the marinated beef (marinate with ketchup and egg) on the pan.

Step 3: Put some vegetables around the remaining space on the pan. Ready to serve with blackpepper sauce! <3
