The Not So Dead Blog and Person

It's not been A WHILE, but been ages, I know, NO UPDATE.
By the way, my life is getting busy, since I am a working lady now. :p
So, just let me update about some important things in my life.

After half decade of college life, I graduated on 28th May 2013.
As I ever talked in my old and previous post (did I?), I am left brain person.
My major of study was Visual Art Education.

I've just mentioned about work and education. So guess what I am working as now?

I work as a cat hunter.
LOL. Obviously NO.

An educator, a teacher - or a monstrous rebellious teacher.
It's sweet and kind teacher (if you believe so) and I'm teaching Art classes mostly.
The image above is for illustrative purposes only -  I'm not teaching Islamic subject.
Being a Muslim means you know the method to teach the kids how to perform prayer correctly.

At the same time, I'm trying to be an active amateur artist. After leaving college, I've joined art exhibitions twice, under Artgeng group.

Recent exhibition held in Bastion House, A Famosa Malacca.

What else? I'm sleepy~

The Last Chapter II: Behind the scene (exhibition)

From one angle.
We're amazing people maybe. We don't sleep at night, we sketch instead. Thanks to technology, projector helped a lot, our work turned much easier
Yeah, too amazing. Two can do better than one, and we're many.

It didn't really matter ladies or gentlemen, we all do the same thing here as a team. :)

It's slope and dangerous. But we love reckless thing.

Easels and handmade panel board for artworks display.

Small sized sponsored banner, advertisement was crucial for FYP.

P/S: My blog was on hiatus since my laptop had had trouble. Maybe need new one, later. :\

The Last Chapter I: Around RADAR 360

Hi. Did I make any sense?I was holding the exhibition catalog!

The official logo of RADAR 360.

What was RADAR 360 about? RADAR is the antonym for Rasa Dalam Rupa (the sense in form), held in 11th October - 13th October 2012 in IPG Kampus Tengku Ampuan Afzan, my college for half decade (5 years 5 months). This was our final exhibition as degree students in Visual Art Education. Let's take a glance.

We made this 'photobooth' from plywood. Damn heavy I say.

What I did, what I got, whatever around RADAR 360:

I don't always play with henna, but when I do, I make crap doodle.

My exhibited artworks:

 Title: SILVER JUBILEE: MONARCH
Size: 99 x 79 cm
Media: Oil paint on canvas

 Title: DISPUTE OF WAR
Size: 59 x 42 cm
Media: Oil paint on plywood

 Title: LET IT LIVE
Size: 59 x 42 cm
Media: Fabric dye on linen

That's all. But I made 'nother one during the exhibition:

This is what we called as 'batik' using the tool called 'canting', filled with melted wax.

And becoming like this. Oh yes, I do love dragonfly, a lot! :)

I don't want to make long post with lots of awesome photos from our exhibition, so...
Stay tune for next post: Behind the Scene of RADAR 360.

Final as trainee at school

Just finished my internship at SK (LKTP) Kota Gelanggi 2, Jerantut. Learned lots thing here, how to mix with community, etc. Anyway, just wish to share what we've contributed for this school.

About 10x25 feet mural. Completed in 2 months.

The very first art programme and exhibition.
*my lecturer said he loved that design a lot. I was so moved!*

Thank you to our kind Headmaster and school.
3 months for practicum and 1 month internship.
4 months in Jerantut. We'll never forget it. :)

Never forget:
My kids - respondents for my action research about drawing figurine.
Year 5 pupils, but one of 'em is higher than me. =_="
Thank you kids, you've helped me to complete my studies. :)

In process...

Our mural painting progress so far... I can say 85%. What we've done for these 3 weeks so far. Coming to school every evening, unless it's raining. One week remains before the final practicum ends. The Headmaster has started asking me if we could make it before upcoming week ends. Well, Insyaallah... if the weather is fine. Anyway, it's sort of different than my original design, due the difference of wall's scale. Just using creativity to overcome the small problem. ^_^

Designing the wall

I know it's a long period no update blogger is here. Truly busy with my practicum, every single day I learn how to improve my teaching skill, how to control kids, and how to make the lesson fun and meaningful. Anyway, not much to talk, updating today just to ensure at least I do something this month. Just want to share here my mural design at school. Based on my designs, the Headmaster chose the rainbow one.

Haven't started drawing it on the wall yet. We'll start it tonight. Well, I have to use projector to trace back the image or else all the scales would extremely change. Our attempt to draw it during cloudy evening failed since the image won't appear from the projector. The surrounding was not dark enough to show the image clearly.

Incomplete task and the three beads

Next week will be the assessment. I haven't completed any artworks. Since I haven't drawn manga for ages, my skill is beyond my expectation. I draw much slower! 2 hours = one character. T_T OK please don't give up.
Photo: one of early sketch for my portfolio, about illustration and the technique. Currently I'm quite obsessed in drawing elf. ;)

I left my work for three days (from Friday to Sunday) to attend scout camp, for Three Beads.

The camp site.
Location: Pusat Kokurikulum PPD Jerantut.

My team - Sekawan Merah.
Location: Outside SK Tanah Rom
It takes about 6 - 8 miles from the camp site to reach here, by WALKING!

One of my favourite activity nowadays c:

Best campsite trophy.
Victory of 3 beads! Hahahaha~

Behind the scene: My team wished we'd never win this trophy, since the leader will always carry this damn heavy woods whole day, luckily our luck was on the last day, so it's less than 3 hours to hold it. <:

p/s: Less photos, less story to write. I'm gonna continue sketching ha3. ;P

2nd phase ended.

Friday, August 26th: The last day for 2nd phase practicum in SK Kechor Tui (SKKT), Padang Tengku. Well, lot of things I learned from this school. As it worth for couple months, this practicum made me grew up more - how to mix better with community, how to handle and attract kids in lesson, etc. I'll continue being a student back at campus until this November. I already miss all these things in SKKT:

The kids playing outside the class during recess.
Singing "Satu dua tiga.." (etc) moving like a train. So cute~ c:

The moment I was 'bullied' by the male teachers,
they ordered me to prepare pais ikan patin tempoyak
They did that since I was known as a Johorean who doesn't eat tempoyak
But it's a fun experience honestly.

Weekly routine - painting a mural.

Actually we're not satisfied enough. Need a week more for better colour.
(p/s: the illustration is not made by us, we just recoloured the whole fading wall.)

The last lesson, with Standard 4 - outdoor painting & origami activity.
And the last observation as well.
You made me proud, kids ^___^

Standard 2 - truly kiddies. Even when I taught English, they wanted me to teach Art.

Gonna miss being a mentor (after school period daily) for this shorty, Rafiq.
A Standard 6 kid whom is as tall as Standard 2 =P

Thanks kids. For the Hari Raya cards, rose, chocolate and presents.
One of 'em gave me duit raya as well.
A pink shawl from Rafiq, but he totally refused to admit it's from him.
He ordered his Standard 3 sister to give it to me.
Ha3 you've grown up, boy.

Pottery making in Temin

Yesterday, 2 PSV units (mine and senior) went to Pusat Kraf Temin, Jerantut for pottery making. From the campus at 7.30am, we arrived there almost 9.00 am. If you've been to Jerantut, you know how the road is - like a safety roller-coaster. Every student required to make at least 3 types of pottery in different techniques - scabbing, coiling, throwing and (I forgot another one).

Temin Kraf - pottery : ceramic and porcelain.

Owner: Cik Mat (back with blue shirt) and a practical student making a demonstration of coiling technique.

Let's play with clay - it's fun. ^__^

Scabbing technique - gluing the clay to cover holes, flaws, etc.

Throwing - my face looked like ceramic with glazing already.

Some samples of our masterpieces.

The ceramics will be burnt in a furnace to get rid of water contained in the clay and next to be covered by glazing and burn again. We left the 'em and return back to campus at about 5.30 pm. It was a very freaking tiring day, I couldn't even feel my palm due tiredness kneading the clay.
